About the blogger

My name is Jayce, and I'm the writer behind this blog. I am a young man studying Creative Advertising in the United States of America, but I was born and raised in the sunny isles of The Bahamas. I hope to return home at some point after my studies and have a successful career that will assist my nation's development.

I grew up not knowing my parents' political preferences. They would always insist that their votes are private and therefore didn't have an interest in forcing any beliefs down my throat. My interest in politics began in 2009 when Dr. Andre Rollins, current PLP M.P. for Fort Charlotte, handed me a flyer for the now-defunct National Development Party. The flyer was my first experience with political hand-outs and it was enough to get me begging my parents to drive me to a meeting. I am eternally grateful that they acquiesced. For the next two years, I was the NDP's loudest (and smallest!) supporter, working to spread the message of this virtually unknown third party. The advice, love, encouragement and knowledge I gained from persons such as Dr. Rollins and Cecil Newry of CNNN has shaped my outlook on Bahamian politics.

Recently, I've become a card-carrying member of the Democratic National Alliance. This, like all the political decisions I have made before, was a personal choice.

The thoughts on this blog are entirely my own. I try to think objectively while writing, but it would be a mistake to guarantee that my political inclinations won't spill out into the articles I write sometimes. I am human and bias is a part of that. Please remember that this is a personal blog; above all, it is my intention to show the uncut thoughts of my unique heart. I intend to blog my thoughts on what I find interesting, not on every political development that takes place. I also do not intend to do a whole lot of reporting, as I prefer to examine existing news and add commentary where applicable.

I hope you enjoy my musings and spin on modern political debate.
